Dawkins Enters Philly Sports HOF

NFL alumnus Brian Dawkins was inducted to the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday night.

There were 16 new inductees into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame.

Brian Dawkins, the Pro Football Hall of Fame candidate and physical and emotional leader of Andy Reid’s talented Eagles teams. Dawkins helped revolutionize the safety position, and in 2012, he was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame. He is one of just nine players in franchise history to have his number retired. He will officially enter the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame during a ceremony this November.

As Dawkins is honored by the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame, another possible honor could be coming his way in the near future. Dawkins will be eligible for the first time to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
